Age Requirement

You must be at least 14 to participate in the swim portion of the event. Participants under the age of 16 must contact the Race Director at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to receive details on a mandated swim test.

If you are between 14 and 15 years of age, you may do the run or the bike portions as a relay team member. The Navigators Stamford KIC IT Triathlon follows USAT’s rules for “age up," which calculates an athlete's age based on December 31 in the year he/she was born.

Participate as an Individual

Ready to accomplish a personal challenge for a great cause? The Navigators Stamford KIC IT Triathlon is just the event for you. Take on this Olympic-distance triathlon by completing all three legs of the triathlon: 1.5k (.9 mile) swim, 40k (24.8 mile) bike, and 10k (6.2 mile) run.

Participate as a Relay Team

Gather together a swimmer, biker and runner and compete as a relay team! Relay teams can be comprised of 2 or 3 members; each completing 1-2 of the event legs. Team members exchange the timing chip inside the transition area. If you are looking for teammates, post on our Facebook page to find someone!

How to Register as a Relay Team

Relay team captains will create their team. Relay team captains can also register the entire team OR relay team members can register themselves once their relay team captain registers the team.

Triathlon Club Cup Challenge

Is your triathlon club the best? When registering, reference your triathlon club (if your club is not listed, please list it). Triathlon club members from both the Olympic and Sprint races will count toward the Triathlon Club Cup.

Seeded Open Wave Division

The Seeded Open Wave allows talented and very competitive age group athletes to participate head-to-head. These participants must be age group athletes and will not be included in the awards for their respective age group. This is a separate, special seeded wave that will start together, receive separate results and separate awards. Rankings are also sent separately to USAT for this wave.

Qualifying times for consideration into the Seeded Open Wave Division are:

Men Olympic Time - 2:12

Women Olympic Time - 2:25

To apply for a spot in the Seeded Open Wave Division, please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with your previous qualifying performance and a link to the published race result.

Packet Pick Up and Expo

For specific Packet Pick Up and Expo information, refer to the weekend schedule. There is no race day packet pick up. Athletes who fail to pick up their packets before race day will not be allowed to race.

It is the responsibility of each athlete to have their packet and be at the swim start on time.

IMPORTANT: According to USAT rules, all athletes must pick up their own packet in person and show ID.

Gear Information

Neoprene booties are considered part of a wetsuit and would be legal to wear anytime wetsuits are legal. Swim-socks/booties are legal at any temperature as long as they do not provide flotation.

Swim Protocol

We ask all swimmers (both relay and individuals) to get in a minimum a 10 minute warm up swim prior to the start of the race. This new protocol is intended to give you a proper warm up as well as acclimate your body to the water temperature.
